Monitoring and Evaluation of Curriculum Implementation of Archivology and Librarianship
Abstract
The current syllabus responds to the provisions established in the Degree Ordinance. The aim is to focus on the student enhancing the exercise of their autonomy. Likewise, it adds other components that refer to the obligatory nature of extension activities, research, pre-professional practice and transit through an elective subject. In 2016, a project was carried out to evaluate the syllabus (EP), from which inputs were generated to improve implementation. We used a qualitative approach with an exploratory scope due to lack of institutional background which focused on the analysis of documents, meetings with qualified informants and focal groups, and the realization of a interorders workshop. The final results emphasized positive and negative aspects of the implementation: information flow and access; assessment of some aspects of the PE and the curriculum framework; identification of institutional references; curricular orientation; facilitators and obstacles to the exercise of autonomy; flexibility; student heterogeneity; carreer articulation; institutional definitions and requirements in general. Subsequently, actions were developed based on the suggestions made after the completion of the project, so the purpose of this communication is to share the results and actions to optimize the implementation of the PE.
